Bad Romance — Macaw

Inspired by the song of the same name, works from the series Bad Romance entwine the overarching, lyric meaning of the music with fairytale wonder to create a new world of highly imaginative mural-scale artwork. This fine art application of design and wallpaper reimagines pretty things that are also toxic. Artist Katie Bright is a local resident and recent recipient of a 2022 City of West Hollywood Public Arts Grant, among other accomplishments. Her new collection redefines wallpaper in an 84-artwork series, Oracle card and Color-in Book set, and an Instagramable, hand-painted mural on the Skybar entrance wall, in collaboration with Artlounge Collective and sponsored by Dunn Edwards.

Miss Brightside is an accomplished Los Angeles-based artist and designer. Miss Brightside’s works explore mark-making and subversive subjects, often applied in functional pieces such as clothing, wallpaper, and other design elements for the home. Miss Brightside holds an MFA from Central Saint Martin (CSM), London.
