Artist FAQ

FAQs

  • Artist opportunities are scarce. In the United States, more than half of the population made an object of art (2019). But there are only 21,000 galleries operating in the US (from big name galleries to small cooperatives). There’s an even smaller fraction of fine art museum and museum galleries.

Artlounge was created by an artist to reflect artist needs. Our pillars focus on fine art sales, press and marketing, exhibitions, and talent management. We focus on the business of art so that you can focus on what you love best—making art.

In addition to our gallery-store location in the heart of Los Angeles, Artlounge Collective controls the curation and display for more than 50,000 square feet of commercial space. We currently work with eight retail and hospitality sector venues, producing rotating exhibitions across six diverse communities in California.

  • Our artist packages are available in six month and one year contracts. Artist may select to contract for multiple years.

  • Artlounge Collective is located in Los Angeles and serves as curators for local businesses in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, Riverside, Oxnard, and Fresno. Artlounge Collective will always have an online presence.

  • Our Artlounge Collective Artist Packages are more than representation. All packages include exclusive representation of fine art pieces, exhibition opportunities, online and magazine listings, regular media releases and paid press, additional and exclusive calls for art, a dedicated art agent, and more. Our expertise is backed by more than a decade of fine art accolades and premium and luxury sales for major global brands.

Representation opportunities for artists are also rare—only seven in ten thousand artists in the US display their artwork in a gallery setting. Our agents place a great deal of time and effort into the sales and display of our artists’ artwork. That work is valuable and produces results.

  • Our Artist Packages are designed for artist of all types.

Our core Artist, Premium Artist, Featured Artist, and Exhibition Artist Partnerships are designed for visual artists.

The Artist package is best for emerging and new artists who are working to build their portfolio and following. Our Featured and Exhibition Artist packages are designed for artists with one more collections of work that are ready for display.

The Performance Artist package is designed for the performing arts. Rather than focusing on gallery-style exhibitions, these packages produce events. Performative arts could include music, spoken word, dance, performance art, or comedy and improv.

  • At Artlounge Collectiive, we love all artists. Our core packages focus on visual and performative arts and may be tailored to your individual needs. We focus on the very broad category of premium, contemporary art.

  • Our base contract is fixed, whether choosing a six or twelve month term. But we are happy to tailor your package with adjustment packages so that it is right for you. Our most popular adjustments include Extended Exhibitions, Pop-Ups & Art Fairs, Calendar Placement, and PR & Advertising upgrades.

  • Whether you have an exhibition depends on your artist package tier and contract.

Our Exhibition and Featured Artist packages guarantee placement in your Artlounge location for a four or eight week show period depending on the contract length. All artist may have art selected for themed and curated calls for art that display in Artlounge stores and online.

    Performance Artist packages guarantee events.

  • Our typical exhibition on a six month contract term for our Featured and Exhibition Artist Packages is a four-week calendar period. A twelve month contract for these tiers guarantees an eight week exhibition period.

  • Our goal is to expand Artlounge Collective into a variety of US neighborhoods, making fine art a part of everyone’s experience. In addition the the Los Angeles location, we’ll be looking for pop-up and commercial opportunities for our artists. We presently curate for Mondrian Los Angeles and all of The Artist Tree dispensaries in California.

  • Artlounge Collective believes that artists should get the most from the sale of their artwork. But we also know the best sales teams are those that are incentivized to make sales. Our artists receive a 65% commission rate on all sales made directly through our gallery location and website. Artists earn a 50% commission on all artwork sold at commercial partner venues or through third party contracts. The majority of Artlounge Collective’s commission is paid directly to our dedicated art agents or designer partners.
