Sedna the Sea Witch—on the Seasonality of Art

Join us for a free adventure through story and meaning as storyteller, teacher, and Artlounge Collective founder K Ryan Henisey expands on the myth of Sedna the Sea Witch. Using mythology and fairytales as a springboard, we explore the meaning of stories as they relate to creative life. In the myth of Sedna, the titular character becomes the goddess of sea after facing cruelty and difficulties in her human life. Artists and creatives experience seasonality to their creativity, paralleling Sedna and other other stories on the roots of understanding inspiration and personal power.

Art & Archetypes is four-part series on myths and meaning. Each session, recurring over the summer of 2023, uses Jungian Psychological Analysis to expand on the richness of stories and archetypes on the lives of creatives. K Ryan Henisey is an award-winning artist and founder of Artlounge Collective. He holds a Masters in English Literature with an emphasis on mythology and children’s literature.
