Artist Workshop: How to Write an Artist Statement

  • Artlounge Collective 145 North La Brea Avenue #F Los Angeles, CA, 90036 United States (map)
A sketch graphic of an artist palette. Instead of a brush, a writing feather creates a line on the surface. Text reads: Artist Workshop: How to Write an Artist Statement.

An artist statement packs a lot of information into a short package. The best statements are short, clear, and use the artists’ authentic voice to help viewers understand the purpose or message of fine art.

Join Artlounge Collective founder and award-winning artist and grant recipient, K Ryan Henisey for a workshop focused on writing an artist statement. Participants will draft a statement during the workshop.

How to Write an Artist Statement is free, though seating is limited. The 45-minute session is followed with a Q&A and time to mingle with other artists. Light refreshments will be served.

How to Write an Artist Statement occurs at the brand new Artlounge Collective show space at 145 N La Brea Avenue, Unit F, LA, CA, 90036. Metered street parking is available as well as a paid lot above the store (accessed through the alley between Beverly and 1st).
